We provide an overview of neurodiversity, with a particular emphasis on autism, ADHD, and sensory processing differences. We additionally introduce neurodiversity as a philosophy of respecting and honoring the value that different neurotypes have to offer the world, and creating environments where all individuals– including neurodivergent individuals– can thrive. Finally, we discuss how societal stigma harms neurodivergent individuals, and how clinicians can avoid perpetuating this stigma.
